All of our classes are in-person, offering a fun and engaging experience in a lively setting. Led by our team of professional chefs, each class combines expert instruction, guided tastings, and interactive cooking. Enjoy the process, sharpen your skills, and savor your creations.

KIDS & TEENS SUMMER CAMP

Violet Cooking Academy for Teens specializes in culinary instruction for young chefs ages 13 to 17, offering a thoughtful blend of demonstration, hands on participation, and guided taste exploration. Our program supports both beginners and more advanced students, helping them build confidence and technique in a professional kitchen environment.

 

In addition to our teen program, we also offer classes for Jr Chefs ages 9 to 12, creating opportunities for younger students to learn foundational skills while growing into more advanced culinary experiences over time.

Haute Tea à la Violet: Winter Tea

Inspired by the charm of a French bistro and the elegance of English afternoon tea, this seasonal gathering celebrates the beauty of autumn with warm hospitality and refined bites.

Savor spiced scones with sweet cream and jam, delicate finger sandwiches, autumnal petit fours, and other exquisite treats. Your experience includes a glass of sparkling Rosé or our signature Violet Lemonade (non-alcoholic), crafted to complement the flavors of the season.

Seating is offered exclusively in our Courtyard and Terrace, where the golden light of fall creates the perfect backdrop for connection and celebration.

A selection of tea sandwiches inspired by Violet Bistro (vegetarian options available)
Warm scones with sweet cream and house-made preserves
Petit fours (layered cakes and savory bites)

Spanish Favorites Featuring Classic Paella

Dive into the heart of Spanish cooking with a hands-on evening dedicated to the art of paella. Chef Manifa Nazarian will guide you through the process of building bold, layered flavor in both seafood and vegetarian versions of this beloved dish.

Along the way, you'll also enjoy making Spanish-inspired flatbreads, Violet's signature green melon gazpacho, and a simple arugula salad to round out the plate. For dessert, we'll serve Violet's Basque cheesecake — a perfect finish.

This experience includes chef demos, hands-on activities, a full meal, and expertly paired wine (your first glass is on us).

Meet Your Chef
Chef Manifa Nazarian is a classically French-trained chef and Holistic Nutrition Consultant with over 15 years of experience spanning top restaurants, luxury hotels—including the Ritz-Carlton—television, and private residences. She has cooked for celebrities and musicians, worked as a culinary producer for TV, and hosts sought-after chef's table experiences across Southern California.

Thai Fried Chicken & Other Favorites

Chef Nishi Lal guides this masterclass, offering guests an opportunity to explore the culinary traditions of a different region in each session.

Participants will learn to create authentic recipes while uncovering the unique ingredients, techniques, and flavors that define the cuisine. You'll also gain valuable tips on sourcing and storing ingredients to recreate these dishes at home.

Each class includes chef-led demonstrations, hands-on cooking activities, and a full-service meal complemented by a signature cocktail.

About Chef Nishi Lal

Born and raised in India, Nishi found her roots in Los Angeles in her early 20s. Her love for food and passion for teaching was honed at The New School Of Cooking in Los Angeles and Cooking Schools in Thailand, Vietnam, and India. With a detailed background in global spices, herbs, and cuisines, Nishi has taught numerous private, group, and virtual classes with different Culinary Schools all over Los Angeles. Throughout her career, she has tried to bring together traditional techniques and modern approaches, fresh ingredients, robust flavors, and spices native to the cuisine she teaches.

Learn To Make A Princess Cake

Step into the pastry kitchen and learn to create a classic Princess Cake from start to finish in this fully hands on baking class led by Chef Yesenia Cruz.

In this immersive experience, each guest will make their own Princess Cake, learning essential pastry techniques along the way, from baking and layering to filling, frosting, and finishing. Chef Yesenia will guide you through each step, sharing professional tips and techniques to help you build confidence and elevate your baking skills.

At the end of class, you'll take your finished cake home to share and enjoy.

This class is perfect for home bakers, dessert lovers, and anyone looking to spend a joyful afternoon learning something new in the kitchen.

This special gathering is all about connection, laughter, and lingering over beautiful bites. Enjoy warm hospitality alongside spiced scones served with crème fraîche and house made preserves, delicate finger sandwiches, petit fours, and other thoughtfully prepared sweet treats.

Your experience begins with a glass of sparkling Rosé or our signature Violet Lemonade, a refreshing non alcoholic option crafted to complement the menu. Throughout the afternoon, enjoy our signature Earl Grey Cream tea or a decaffeinated Rooibos tea.

The menu includes a selection of tea sandwiches inspired by Violet Bistro, with vegetarian options available, warm scones with crème fraîche and house made preserves, petit fours, and additional sweet bites designed for sharing.
