Violet Los Angeles is a charming neighborhood Bistro and Cooking School in the heart of Westwood Village. Housed in a two-story historic brick building, Violet features a lush and romantic courtyard, chic bar and dining room, rooftop terrace, and a beautiful demonstration kitchen.
Reservations are highly recommended. We host numerous private events, from birthdays and weddings to corporate and team-building cooking classes, bar mitzvahs, and afternoon tea.

In this interactive class, guests will learn how to prepare a selection of approachable Thai dishes designed to balance sweet, salty, sour, spicy, and herbaceous flavors. From rolling fresh summer rolls to building aromatic coconut chicken, this experience is designed to feel both fun and deeply flavorful while teaching techniques you can confidently recreate at home.

Spend an evening in the kitchen inspired by the light, elegant flavors of a Parisian summer.
In this hands-on cooking class, guests will learn how to prepare delicate white fish en papillote, the classic French technique of baking fish in parchment paper to create a beautifully aromatic and perfectly steamed entrée. Alongside the fish, Chef Kristen Shapiro will guide guests through a seasonal French-inspired menu designed to feel approachable, elegant, and perfect for warm summer evenings.
