Violet Los Angeles is a charming neighborhood Bistro and Cooking School in the heart of Westwood Village. Housed in a two-story historic brick building, Violet features a lush and romantic courtyard, chic bar and dining room, rooftop terrace, and a beautiful demonstration kitchen.
Reservations are highly recommended. We host numerous private events, from birthdays and weddings to corporate and team-building cooking classes, bar mitzvahs, and afternoon tea.

Meatball Extravaganza with Chef Nishi Lal
Join Chef Nishi Lal for a lively, flavor-packed class centered around one of the most versatile and satisfying dishes in the kitchen: meatballs. In this hands-on experience, you’ll learn how to prepare beef and lamb meatballs and explore how a single base can transform across three distinct flavor profiles. From bright and herbaceous to rich and comforting to bold and globally inspired, this class is all about technique, adaptability, and building confidence in the kitchen.
Chef Nishi will guide you through shaping, seasoning, and cooking meatballs to perfection, while also introducing complementary elements like hand-pulled pasta and warm pita to round out the experience. We’ll finish on a light, elegant note with a citrus almond cake.

Join Chef Jesse Brune for an evening inspired by the bold, sun-soaked flavors of the Mediterranean. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn to prepare a vibrant Greek salad, savory Greek meatballs, and rustic flatbread pizzas, finishing on a sweet note with a rich baklava cheesecake.
A glass of sangria is included with the class.
Along the way, Chef Jesse will share techniques, flavor-building tips, and a bit of culinary perspective gathered from over 20 years in the kitchen.
